When is a distribution executor needed?
If the parties to a divorce or the end of a cohabitation cannot reach an agreement on the division of property, either party, or both, may petition the district court to appoint a distribution executor.
How is an estate distribution executor compensated?
Generally, the cost of the estate distribution executor is paid in equal shares by the parties. The responsibility for payment is joint, which means that the estate distribution executor can demand payment from one of the parties. Under certain circumstances, you may be entitled to compensation for five hours of work through a provision known as the fee guarantee for the estate distribution executor.

Of course, it is often best if the parties to a division of property can reach an agreement. If this is not possible, it is good to know that there is a possibility to apply for an estate distribution executor.
