Legal protection
Legal protection
Legal protection is included as one of several elements of home insurances and most corporate insurances. Legal protection is intended to cover part of the costs of a legal representative in a dispute. The terms for legal protection may vary depending on the insurance company you are with. The insurance terms and policy will state what applies in your case. The insurance will also cover the other party’s costs if you should lose the dispute. If you do not have legal protection, you may be able to obtain assistance with the costs of the case through legal aid. You can read more about legal aid below. Unlike legal aid, legal protection is not dependent on your annual income.
Legal protection should be exercised at first instance in disputes relating to child custody, maintenance and other family law issues.
